High Resolution Manometry
Friedrich Conzen Haus - Suriel
High-resolution catheters (known as HR manometry) with up to 36 measuring points are increasingly being used to measure movement in the esophagus and to measure pressure. This enables accurate recording of the various pressure values in the esophagus and lower esophageal sphincter. For this purpose, a kind of geographical atlas of the esophagus is displayed on the monitor during the examination, which subsequently enables electronic summarization and evaluation. Manometry is a diagnostic procedure that should not be overlooked, especially in cases of achalasia. Not only is it the reference procedure for diagnosis and individualized therapy, but it also allows the success of the therapy to be checked, for example, after surgical division of the LES and after the newly established “peroral endoscopic myotomy,” or POEM for short (as part of a gastroscopy).
You have the opportunity to deepen the application of high-resolution manometry through practical exercises at measuring stations in small groups. You are also welcome to bring in your own case studies.

FTRD® Course [already fully booked]
Friedrich Conzen Haus - Suriel
Together with Ovesco, we have the opportunity to offer you a training course for endoscopic full-thickness resection (eFTR) with the FTRD® system.
The FTRD® system is an instrument for flexible endoscopy for full-thickness removal and diagnostic tissue acquisition through resection of suitable lesions in the digestive tract. So far, it is the only intervention system for this transluminal, minimally invasive procedure. The FTRD® system is a multifunctional instrument that combines several steps (access, closure, resection) and essentially corresponds to an endoluminal surgery using the endoscope.
During the one-day course, important theoretical content such as indications, clinical data, possible complications, their management and avoidance will be taught, as well as sufficient training opportunities for all participants to practice the technique on the animal model. This training course covers the application of the colonic and diagnostic FTRD® system.
In order to learn the technical details and the correct assembly, as well as the correct and therefore safe application, especially in the interaction between the doctor and the assistant, participation is mandatory for the doctor (m/f/d) and desired for the assistant staff.
After completing the course, you will receive the certificate.
The following criteria apply for participation in the FTRD® system course:
Experience in handling the OTSC®neo system
Experience in resection techniques (e.g. EMR)

Interventional Sonography
Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf
Interventional sonography is one of the everyday tasks of an internist and gastroenterologist. Targeted punctures and the placement of drains require practice and a great deal of experience. Here, you will practice various sonographic interventions on the models. You can try out different puncture aids and needles and have the technique explained to you by experienced physicians. One of the highlights is the exercise on the model for a tunneled ascites drain.
